What is wrong with this picture?
Spring is a mere 40 days away, that is what's wrong with this picture. Enough, already! The chickens are not happy with all this snow, and frankly, neither am I.

Hey! Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow!! It's February. No complaining about the snow until April. This is the way Maine should be!!
Ali - Now, I know you have countdown meter on your site for spring, but you live in Maine and you must know that 40 days until spring really means nothing - nothing - to those of us unfortunate enough to live in an "M" state? (Well, okay, Missouri and Maryland are somewhat temperate, and Mississippi doesn't count, but the others - the cold ones.) It's time to buck up, girl! ;)
Actually, I know what you mean. We're not getting snow, but we're heading back below 0F again this weekend. I'm so tired of being cold.
4-8" coming here tomorrow. Enough already. We're not up to the 100" I like to see for the water table yet. I'd rather our snowiest months were December and January.
T has a bball tournament today with six hours between games. I'm coming home to work in the greenhouse while the sun's out. It's such a rare sight these days that I'm willing to put off errands until after the last game, when it's dark and snowing.
Think early spring thoughts!

Eek. So cold. I hope you stay warm!
Hey A,
On the drive home, I noticed the willow trees getting a touch green on the edges, and some of the other trees and shrubs with a hint of color about the branches as well. I wouldn't have noticed the subtle change, except that it was overcast and there was so much snow under the trees!
O. in the cold
I've noticed the willows greening up, too. I've been wondering if that is a function of day length? I'll have to ask a plant prof. The lilac leaf buds are getting larger and greening up, too.
Spring will arrive, but not, apparently until we get more snow on Wednesday and again this weekend. Sigh.
