Late this afternoon, the titmouse pair was back, and as Fisher lay on the deck, one of them made repeated landings. Eventually, Fishy ignored the bird, which then proceeded to pull out a big beakful of dog hair. Fortunately, I was able to get close enough to take photos through the shed door. It was amazing!
Off to make the nest cozy.

I guess that one knew where to get good nesting material. I wonder if it might come back for more?
That's hilarious! It's great that you had your camera ready.
What is amazing is that the bird was so persistent that I had time to go get my camera!
What amazing photos! And what a patient dog. Wonder if any of our local birds would be interested in dust bunnies?
Speaking of dust bunnies, have you seen the cage that holds them for the birds to take?! These are the best photos! You couldn't copy/paste/merge & airbrush something that good!!! A video wouild have won the top prize on Americas Funniest Video!
Or Animal Planet's - The Planet's Funniest Animals.
Amazing Photos!!!! Fishy is too cute...so generous to help those birds out! Ali, I sent you an email :)

By the way has it come back? Do you know where the nest is and is it near-by?
At least Fishy has redeemed himself by becoming useful! I think that of all of the examples of cooperation in nature..this one takes it all!
I was wondering how common this is, so I surfed and found your pix. Apparently it's not too uncommon:
